ALTERNATE DESCRIPTION
Using the print style of “SHOWROOM”, will print the items alternate description ( if loaded at product level) so customers can’t do “competitive” shopping.
This is what you can do if the item doesn’t have an “alternate description” loaded at the product level, especially if the item was just created using the NONSTOCK program in sales order entry.
In the example below, I just created a M12345 4” CC CP LAV FCT W/ 16 SUPPLIES
Since there is NO alternate description loaded at the product level given the item was just created, you can manually use a “replacement description” for the item just created
- With cursor on the item “alt” C for comment, the following screen will appear
- Now do a “alt” R , the following screen will appear
- Here you can adj the description they way you want it to be
In this example I removed the part #
- Now escape back to the body, you now see the following
Note: the ^ next to the description is the systems way of letting you know that you “replaced the original description”
Now you need to bring the original description back to the order
- With cursor on the item, alt “C”, then alt “R”, the following will appear
- With your cursor on the item, hold down the delete key to remove the data, then escape , you will now see on the body of the order, the “original description”
